Don’t Always Believe The Press

Bob Cox has a great post about how off target the mainstream media can be about the MBA (Media Bloggers Association) and how the mainstream media has interpreted actions to provide bloggers more benefits like education, legal and ethical advisory services, credentialing and so on. The MSM must be feeling some threat from bloggers because last I checked when employed within a major media organization they have those same benefits.

As for trying to create the “elite” list of bloggers, more hogwash. I’ve been a part of Bob’s inner circle from day one when he conceived this idea and can categorically state that he has never had that in mind. The idea of an “A” list of bloggers is also more akin to those so called “legends in their own mind.” The audience is who matters in blogging not the blogger. Bloggers are conduits of information. Some have bigger pipes. Others have more flow. But it the reader who is the “A” that matters.
