By Tuesday, Willi’s Wine Bar will be finished it’s renovation and will be new, but as with any city, there are always new restaurants that can tease, tempt and tantalize, and of course, Paris, is clearly a town of the latter.
Beyond Willi’s new look (don’t worry, the old bar with zinc will remain) I’ve come across no less than two new spots that have to become part of the regular diet of new dining spots. The first is a carnivore’s delight. Charbon Rouge. Located at #25 rue Marbuef in the very business oriented 8th Ard., the new meat house is perhaps the finest example of Argentine beef outside of the Pampas. The second “new” dining spot is in the Marais. And straight up, it’s a crowd pleaser. Dubbed Claude Colliot Restaurant I have never had such a tasty and tantalizing cut of lamb as I did there. Located inside a walled part of the 4th Ard., at 40 Clos des Blancs-Manteaux 75004 Paris, France, I have not tasted anything like the citrolnelle infused lamb dish, nor such a light and flavorful medley of gambas, coquille St. Jacques and razor clams.
