I’m seeing not much in the way of news. Vonage? Skype? Google? All that happened last week. Next week, after Labor Day and all I expect things will heat up.
As I said a few weeks back my sources were right on the money with the launch date for EvDO in NorCal. I think the Om one has to admit the Andy-man was dead on with this one.
If Google is doing what Skype is doing and turning your PC into a server is that opening you up to being hacked? More important, if your PC is a server doesn’t that make many of us in violation of our TOS (term of service) agreements with the cable providers? Hat tip to Tom Keating … Read more
Pal Tom Keating @ TMC has the lowdown on the new, soon to be released Cisco Videophone. Tom’s point about all video phone’s needing to be interoperable is key. I guess though it will take Google to create a Video Federation too before that happens.
Either GIPS could lose one of their biggest customers if Intel sways Skype away. Then again this could just be Skype being like Dell or HP that love to play Intel versus AMD.

Mark Evans has a note about SiPPhone being in play. I think he’s right. I’m hearing rumors about the venture being sold too. My guess though is either Yahoo, Google or don’t be surprised, even Microsoft could be the buyers. There is also the possibility that the sale could be to SingTel.

Skype continues to improve their PocketPC version. An evaluation version is now out. MSMobiles has the details. The key here is VoiceMail. I just hope this version will work with BlueTooth headsets.
