Introducing Primus

The Ottawa Business Journal has brought to light that Primus is now live in Canada. While it’s a company that is similar to Vonage in scope, they require at present, a static IP address. That will hurt them when it comes to the USA market, as most of the broadband ISPs seem to be dynamic.

Hands On, But Gently

The New York Post recognizes that VoIP is more a when than an if. In the article they even recognize VON, though I’m not sure how accurate they were, as working towards a more hands off, less restictive form of regulation.

To Regulate or Not Regulate

Tech Central Station reports on Michael Powell and VoIP in what is more of an editorial than a news story. The post, which is more about old school vs. new school, emphasizes once again why VoIP should not be regulated.

Another Survey Says

Well this is my kind of story, one that blends lifestyle with technology, and it’s all based on wireless. When you add in VoIP’s ability to work from any full blown IP connection, the workforce doesn’t have to be in an office to stay connected.

Going The Other Direction

A company based in Detroit, Inflexion Communications has hired a former Ameritech CEO to take VoIP down market, and use the prepaid system as a way to insure success. Some thoughts are this company will actually be the opening steps of a massive VoIP carrier roll up play.
