Has anyone ever done a comparison of their video conferencing options for the Small to Medium Business sector?
Today I had an interesting chat with a friend in the industry and after hearing what she said I figure there has to be some less costly ways to approach this market than the Tandberg and Polycom offerings. First they are mostly fixed. Second they likely require an IT person to set them up and maintain them. Third you need a lot of pipe to get them really working.
Anyone with a TCO (total cost of ownership) or experience with these platforms please let me know…
Thanks,
Andy
Actually there is a video conferencing system for small and medium enterprises that’s cheaper than both Tandberg & Polycom and offers quality upto and beyond 1080p HD.
It’s from a startup company called Vidyo (formerly known as Layered Media Inc.) at which I work (full disclosure). Our technology is both error resilient (checkout: http://www.vidyo.com/vidyo_wellknown.html) over the internet and adaptive to various bandwidths available. Above all, it’s cheap as it does not require an expensive MCU!
Try Ojo videophone costs only $9/ month and there’s not delay 100% real time
