Will WiMax Marry w/VoIP

Lots of speculation about WiMax being the dial up killer. Intel is playing big in the game. Add in Cisco and you have a major headache for the switch folks. But first there has to be a standard, then some real deployments.

IBM and VoIP

Internet Telephony uber blogger latches onto what IBM is doing with VoIP courtesy of our friend Keith of voipnuke.com. It is no secret IBM will play in the VoIP world. The question is how? In this move IBM is switching providers for voice conferencing from PTEK to adifferent company.

VoIP Needs Standards

I may be a day late on this but I have to agree on this point. Without standards confusion will rule and that will lead to government regulation. Remember, the government that governs best, governs least. Self regulation is the key and that means standards.

eWeek Says Hands Off VoIP, Almost

eWeek in what is more of an editorial than a news story suggests a sane approach to VoIP regulation, largely saying give the government the ability to VoIPtap. I agree, but wonder how P2P systems will be impacted or really, what impact they will have on the market. Andy
