Sidecut Reports spots a prototype from Cradlepoint that takes a WiMax signal and creates a WiFi hotspot. Neat. This would be an amazing VoIP base station for either the Nokia N or E Series phones or the iPhone with an app like Truphone.

A story in XChange today rebukes the story yesterday about Verizon being all VoIP. This is an example of how messaging can get twisted. Even I read the account to be all VoIP in seven years. Clearly, that’s not the case.
