Another Week, Another Conference

This week is a busy week, and there’s no relief in sight. That’s a good thing as this Wednesday and Thursday in San Francisco is the Open Mobile Summit. It’s really shaping up to be something of interest to me, as the idea of Open seems to have many definitions. It’s sort of like “unlimited.”

HTC WiMax Phone Comes to Russia

Touting both GSM and WiMax for Mobile, HTC has launched a new phone in Russia that will provide up to ten megs of connectivity, plus be able to view 23 TV channels tat will be sent over the WiMax network. Not unexpected, VoIP will be part of the dual mode phone when on WiMax.

Google Mail Goes Video

The folks at Google keep innovating, adding video conferencing to Gmail on both the Mac and the PC. Just as soon as I can find someone on my chat list who is also using Gmail on the Premier side of the fence, I’ll try it.
