Video is the next frontier with Voice over IP. When you think about it, we’ve been in an audio based communications medium for over 100 years. Now that people have broadband and with SIP, the ability to layer in real time voice and video, with presence based messaging (IM/Location based) can’t be that far behind.
One Southern California college is working with the idea, as a way of extending the classroom.
When you think about it, with all the hoopla around mobile phones with digital cameras, it’s not that big of a stretch to live video chat. Think Nextel with pictures.
Will the Adult (i.e. Porn) industry be first to lead this sector, or will it be the youth market in Europe or the far east?
