It seems that Cox Communications (NYSE: COX) has done a 180 and now come around to a position that recognizes that VoIP is better for them and their customers than circuit switched telephony.
In a white paper, referenced by Light Reading they make every indication that they are going to begin deploying VoIP.
On a related note, a rumour continues to swirl that Cox is close to making a deal with Level 3 for VoIP bandwidth. Cox has a technology department, but in the past have demonstrated they like to buy and deploy, can anyone spell @HOME or Broadjump, both of which built the Cox High Speed Broadband service.
