Level3 which remains in the playground of VoIP with a service creation platform that works in many ways has added call centers to their list of markets with an announcement today.
While on the surface just another press release, what it clearly shows is that months back Level3 had a plan to target and niche market heavy users of PSTN lines and migrate them to VoIP. By working with integrators, sales teams and service providers Level3 is staying true to their roots as the carriers’ carrier.
The big question is how will companies like MCI, Sprint and AT&T Long Distance respond to keep the customers they already own, and migrate them to competitively priced VoIP.
My guess is they are and will. And that rings up savings to the customers all the way down the line or in this case up the pipe.
