USA Also Unsure of VoIP

While not as far behind as Canada (one out of four) the USA rings in at fifty percent in the unsure about what VoIP is, offers and is aware they can have it according to a poll released today.

The key message that is however getting through, and is no surprise, is that VoIP saves consumers money. The biggest concern revolves around the issues of reliability, 911 service and number portability, the latter, likely driven by the great job the FCC did around the ability to keep your cell phone number when you switch, and the lousy job they did when it comes to fixed land line numbers being switch between carriers and even to cell phones.

VoIP is clearly still in the early adopter phase and that’s where mass market confusion and uncertainty will always exists, especially when there is a plethora of choices, conflicting messages and lack if clarity in advertising and information dissemination.
