Velocitus, an Idaho company has launched a VoIP service, competing with QWEST in the state. Both are currently targeting the business market, but are expected to go after the residential market later in the year.
This is good for business in Idaho and likely the tip of the iceberg for just how competive the market will become. Between Level3 offering carrier sevices to ISPs and cable companies, and integrators becoming suppliers, the number of deals to get VoIP installed will be confusing and challenging to IT and Telephony managers, let alone consumers.
