About 100 beta trail users in Menlo Park, CA are experimenting with high speed Internet connection in Menlo Park, CA and AT&T is trailing VoBPL (Broadband over Power Lines).
The speeds are supposed to be faster than the fastest DSL line, and if the service works, it pretty much means that broadband to the home, every home that has power, can get connected.
This turns the power company into both a telephone provider because VoIP works over powerlines and a cable television network.
Ken Rutkowski and I reported on this yesterday on our daily “World Technology RoundUp” also on KenRadio.
