New York Times On VoIP

The New York Times has a story in their Sunday edition about VoIP.

My guess is the number of 300,000 users in the USA is likely lower than reality. Vonage is over 200,000 already according to their announced figures, and with all the others being so aggressive, such as Packet8 and AT&T Call Vantage, I have to believe that they and the rest have at least another 100,00.

What the story is missing is the revolution that’s not being publicized in this story. I’m referring to the users of Skype, which now reports over 16 million downloads, and the rest of the p2p players, and softphone based free phones like GloPhone from VoiceGlo that connects friends for free and terminates for a price.
