Vonage Raises 105 Million, Cites Expansion

Vonage, which remains privately held, announced they raised $105 million dollars in venture capital dollars today.

The money will be used to fuel global expansion and the development of new technology. You can likely expect to see more marketing and advertising from the company as well as continued work with third party developers. The recent Linksys and Netgear announcements are a direct result of their fueling efforts with Texas Instruments.

Clearly this round of funding gives Vonage the kind of money that Packet8 and VoiceGlo, already public companies, have and further puts distance between their market leading efforts of the private VoIP players and all the rest like VoicePulse, Broadvox, Broadvoice and others.

That said, for companies like VoicePulse which has a a very high quality service that came out just after Vonage did, could bode well as they continue their pursuit of investment dollars.
