Fatport has a new VoIP service offeringthat works in the hotspots.
A Caifornia company introduces a WiFi ready VoIP phone which sounds a lot like the Pulver Innovations and ZyXEL products.
Are you seeing a pattern here.
People want a world without wires. They also want connectivity for lower cost. On Net calls are going to begin having different pricing models (free without any QoS) fractions of cents for calls with QoS, and then the low rates or bundles we are seeing today from the VoIP providers.
As we have written previously, VoWiFi will be disruptive to the cell carriers in a huge way. Let me give you an example. I’m in a WiFi enabled hotel room (I made it so with my WiFi router) and while I have a TA plugged in, I also can use my headset on my laptop or PDA to make and receive calls. As I visit many cafe’s here in Paris, I can connect very easily and have a high quality IP connection and make calls.
This isn’t someone’s dream. This is happening everyday.
