In a battle that will have more falls and takedowns than “Rowdy” Roddy Piper vs. Hulk Hogan were ever seen in Wrestlemania, two of the more cunning serial entrapraneurs Michael Robertson and Jeffrey Citron, continue to throw more verbal barbs in each other’s direction than Howard Cosell and Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali).
Forget the fact that the two started out going after the same thing….to take telephone customers away from the RBOCs. Now that Robertson showed the customers that with Vonage it’s like the Emporer’s New Clothes, Citron has retorted.
Om Malik got the response from Robertson after Citron tried his version of the piledriver, only to have Robertson break the hold.
Believe me, this is not going to be two out of three falls….actually it reminds me more of an “I Quit” match between Tully Blanchard and Magnum T.A. when one of the companies finally turns to a crimson mask….and no, this is not Gordon Solie reporting. Candidly, if the upcoming VON needed a controversy to generate added attention about VoIP, this could be it….
