8×8 Adds New Features to Packet8 VoIP and Video Broadband Phone Services. The toll free services plan is something neat. I once asked another VoIP provider if they could offer that since I have two 800 numbers. The pricing alone by 8×8 is much less than what I’m paying Qwest to manage and terminate the 800 numbers to SBC.
The directory assistance @ .75 cents per call is lower than what some cell phone carriers charge.
The phone based management for call configuration and call routing doesn’t seem that different other than the fact that it’s not voice commanded from what I use with CommuniKate.
While these represents steps forward, given the service outages that Packet8 experienced the last few week I think these are “nice” but the outage and call quality issues need to be solved.
