LightReading reports on a Vonage outing on Friday. This is one their customers worst fears. The network went down and so did the Vonage web site.
My guess is they are having scaling issues as well as a NOC related problem. Coming the week before VON is the wrong time for it to happen, as it will be talked about widely there is my guess.
