Business Week OnLine on Peerio

I’ve been around the PR game for over 30 years. I’m only 45 and still get goosebumps when a hit happens. The story in BusinessWeek Online is a plum in my mind for Popular Telephony as it moves the company along and up the media food chain and more into the traditional business press.

We call this positioning and a laddering a client. It is the logical step after the more insider business media who make the trends that covers only technology or tech culture types discover things like this first.

As the PR agency of record for Popular Telephony, I have to be nothing but giddy. This is what the job is all about. Getting a company properly positioned and covered.

Popular Telephony is the kind of client that is what real PR types want, a true challenge. After all the behind the scenes work getting coverage about challenging companies is the initial job the PR person has, but moving beyond the trades and to broadening the story by having the right reporter tell it to the public means first the media has to figure it out and really tell the story. It started back in 2004 when Business 2.0 first covered them. Now the story starts to go to a wider audience. The journey continues…and never really ends and somewhere my first mentor is smiling down from heaven knowing those lessons learned so long ago continue to be applied….Thanks Sy.
