Vocera makes those very cool in Star Trek communicator like WiFi phones that are geared for intra-enterprise wide use, today. With some tweaking and technology from say Parus Interactive, it could do a lot more. But even without the Webley technology of speech enabled communications, what Vocera did with Wayport is a major first step in voice over WiFi inside hotels, hospitals and office campuses.
In a nutshell, tap the communicator and talk to a colleague in a building. I call it the WiFiTalkie.
