I was looking around for international inbound numbers similar to Skype to work with GizmoProject or PhoneGnome as each provides me with a real SIP address meaning I can receive calls on them.
I found this company VoxBone and their pricing looks interesting. Along with Libretel and VoIPUser these folks seem to make the world a smaller place.
What I don’t understand is why the VoIP players aren’t offering this option in a bigger way? Maybe it’s not that big of a market yet, but of late I’ve tried out Mint Telecom to call my Canadian based client, iotum saving lots of money when I’m on the go and can’t make a Skype call versus the charges of my cell carrier, Verizon.
That said the same functionality is available to me by calling CallVantage and programming speed dial numbers and I don’t pay any additional charges. So while I like the idea of Mint to call Europe for less, calls north of the border can be done via CallVantage rather easily, and by setting the numbers up as speed dials, it becomes even easier
