CES Comes To Life Tuesday, January 3 2006

My crystal ball tells me there will be a host of announcements from the usual suspects this week during CES in Las Vegas as VoIP goes even more mainstream this year.

Of course Bill Gates will make some new Microsoft product announcements mostly geared around the home and VISTA. Linksys will expand beyond the regular T-A and VoIP router. Netgear, D-Link and all the rest of the chips and plastic fraternity will find a way to slip into VoIP trying to catch the hype wave. Skype will roll out a bunch of licensed products and a slew of never heard froms will try to get our attention.

With the Pulver Consumer VoIP Summit on Wednesday expect some good news that day, but also expect some political gamesmanship as others make noise on Tuesday.
