Port blocking could be the death of new services and it’s something that AT&T’s Chairman supports. Not so with QWEST.
This is very important because it directly impacts lots of new voice services and other 2.0 type of applications as well as content delivery. For years companies like Microsoft have feared this also, largely out of concern that it will hamper digital media delivery. Now the threat is is Real Time Communications that errodes the minutes that move the legacy circuit switch networks.
It’s nice to hear that one ILEC won’t be blocking.
