Om predicts that Yahoo’s Skype Killer will be unleashed next week.
My sources at Yahoo are promising some mid-week update to all of us who were briefed on the service back in 2005….
Being that my pick for soon to be Senior VP at Yahoo, Brad Garlinghouse, returns from a week of skiing that something will shake loose. Jeff “Rock Star” Bonforte will be off to the Telecom Next conference but his job of whipping the programmers into shape and making sure the product is as best that it can be seems to be well under way.
Updated–Looks like Om won’t be happy too soon. The new release will not yet include a more than Coco flavored Mac version. as I’m hearing the team inside Yahoo wants to blow the web 2.0 world away with a very Mac centric and capable softphone client and IM program. Expect that later in the second quarter….
