Robertson Has His Head In The Cloud (again)

When Gizmo Project creator Michael “Golden Boy” Robertson launched AjaxWrite and this week AjaxSketch many would have to admit that his head is in the cloud. That’s true, but this is not the first time for him to be here. This is exactly where he was in 1998 with his MP3 Locker concept for music. Sadly the recording industry didn’t get what Robertson was seeing.

Now just about seven years later Robertson is back with a fuller purpose. Basically he feels that people don’t need applications on their desktop or storage and with his new AjaxWrite, Sketch and more is setting out to prove he’s write.

A couple of factors are benefitting him that he didn’t have on his side in the 90s.

First is great penetration of broadband usage around the globe. Second is cheaper costs for storage. Last is something that no one can ever forecast. Readiness. The market is ready for cloud based solutions, where back in the 90s anything that was ASP was hard to grasp.

So for Robertson, being in the cloud sure seems more clear today than ever before.
