Verizon is having a fire sale on VoIP according to Ben Charny. Frost and Sullivan’s Lynda Starr thinks it’s an attempt to get some more traction, which I agree with.
The problem is that VoiceWing is more of an experiment at Verizon than a full blown initiative. It was originally designed as a counter to Vonage, but never had the muscle and weight behind it like AT&T’s CallVantage, which remains the best quality VoIP product on the market from the Bells.
