Over the weekend I extolled the virtues of RadioHandi, a new angel backed startup that has some very cool features and a promising future.
So today I found that Frost and Sullivan has issued a report on the VoIP conferencing sector that only furthers my belief that Brian McConnell and his team are onto something big. Very big.
The F&S report also in my mind validates the belief that conferencing applications, not conference hosting companies are the future because with enough capacity in any network available, just about anyone with the right server platform can be an on the fly conference operator and pretty much assure their customers of solid QoS.
To me this means that there is now a treasure trove of good targets for iotum and their Relevance Engine based Pronto Conference Calling feature which won them a Demo God award last February.
What’s more with SIP minutes so cheap these days, one has to wonder why anyone would be paying circuit switched rates as a buyer of services, when the companies that are providing the services are routing over IP anyway.
Lastly with VAPPS HighSpeed Conferencing via Skype connections, FreeConferenceCall.com the market will quickly head south in price, while heading north in features and options.
