The Skype PR rep on site at eBay DevCon was kind enough to forward me this list of what ports were open for outbound traffic. Ironically, Port 5060 and 5061 which are used for SIP traffic didn’t make it on the list.
Here’s the text she forwarded:
For the safety and security of our network and our guests we are using a standard security template for our outbound traffic. This template is designed to allow the best connectivity for the standard software applications that we anticipated the Developers would be using.
As part of this template, we allow the standard UDP/TCP ports for the common IM/Voice/Video clients as listed below:
AOL Instant Messenger
TCP Port(s): 5190
UDP Port(s): 4000
MSN Instant Messenger
TCP Port(s): 6891-6900 and 1863
UDP Port(s): 1863, 5190 and 6901
Skype:
