in what appears to be a natural home for him, ex-LightReading scoopster Mark Sullivan is over at PCWorld and now blogging on topical issues.
Mark’s value is that he can communicate to an audience that is more mainstream, and not all early adopters. His post about some VoIP services not being ready for prime time is a rather easy to follow summary of a Forrester Report that is making the rounds this week.
This relates directly to the Market Maturity cycle of a product or service, and while some of us adopt new services in the womb, the mass market waits for something to be actually walking and chewing gum at the same time. As a rule it would seem that PC World readers would lean more to that end of the curve than at the beginning where the techie type blog readers and geek forumites would reside in other place. In defense of the publication, they do have their own fair share across all parts of the consumer spectrum which makes them still an always good read to see what’s making the mainstream media.
