Vonage has settled with Sprint for $80 million dollars. This happened after the appeals court recently vacated the Verizon settlement.
I have to wonder how many other VOIP companies Sprint will go after next, as this was the reference case that they will use to muscle others into submission if they are using any similar technology or workarounds.
With nearly $200 million set aside for legal battles and payments, Vonage is certainly now on a path of sell more service to pay the bills going forward. Their war chest is running low and their value is dropping. While the stock may have risen, this is only one battle settled.
