For the last few months Cisco’s fearless leader, John Chambers, has been banging on the drum about telepresence. Now we’re beginning to see the Cisco PR machine in high gear, taking the story out to where the money is…the oil rich nations in Middle East.
This past Thursday, friend and client, Peter Csathy, CEO of SightSpeed, wrote a very passionate post about his impressions and thoughts following Chambers continuation of the all things telepresence theme he’s been hammering for the last few months.
While the venue may have changed, being CES, most veteran observers felt that JC’s “song remained the same” and that his messaging has not changed in the last four speeches Cisco’s leader has delivered. This is called messaging. Telling everyone up and down the ladder the same thing, but making the words more apparent to them. That’s called telling the audience what they want to hear to get buy in.
In a few years it will be showing them what they want to see.
