Polycom To The Rescue

Yesterday I had a meeting in a conference room at a clients that for whatever the reason only had a regular speakerphone, not the weapon of choice, a Polycom.

It wasn’t a problem though as I carried in my overnight bag one of the essentials for a road warrior/global nomad, the Polycom C-100 S, portable speakerphone that works perfectly with my Mac Book Air.

As a colleague not in the room said, “all was crystal clear” as we piped the parties over a wireless connection and made use of client VAPPS’s High Definition conferencing (also called High Speed Conferencing). All I did was join into my company’s bridge that we use for client meetings. We were able to record the six hour meeting, but more importantly the pocket sized wonder from Polycom made and immediate impression on the other executives in the room, who immediately grasped the value of being able to create a conference room on the fly with nothing more than an Internet connection, a laptop and the Polycom.
