Accounts Cancelled, Accounts Added

Over the last few days I’ve cancelled a few accounts and added one.

1. Fuze by CallWave. Nice service, but I don’t really see a compelling need for it. HighDefConferencing.com, Calliflower by iotum and SightSpeed give me more of what I need. Oh, yes, all three are clients.

2. TrueVoice by EarthLink. I have so much VoIP in the house these days I found the bill for their two line service unnecessary and far too limiting. Between OnSip.com from client Junction Networks or my unlimited calling from inPhonex on my nifty SNOM 360 Dect phone, a PhoneGnome, a line from PhoneFusion and of course the always reliable AT&T CallVantage why do I need more phone services.

3. I’ve also added a second phone line to my T-Mobile account. It’s the Android G1, and it’s growing on me. Most of all I like the peppy 3G browser. The phone works well, sounds good an pairs quick with the car.

Here’s the net net. We’re rapidly getting to a point where services can be mashed up. I’m able to keep my PSTN line, forward it to GrandCentral, have GC decide where to send the call, or simply take a message. My end point phone number is really inconsequential, and when I travel internationally, I can point GC to Skype, Skype Out to any number really cheaply or do the same with OnSip, GizmoProject, etc. Most of all, the services are starting to play nicer together, meaning, more options, with the money being spent more wisely.
