Last week I had the good fortune to be part of Nokia World as their guest for doing my part in their ongoing Blogger Relations Program which we launched for them back in 2005.
Back then it was forward thinking, cutting edge and game changing, but now everyone has a blogger relations program (or claims to want to relate to bloggers) but imitation is indeed the highest form of flattery, and we both welcome the compliments that are bestowed by everyone, every company and every agency that has now followed in our respective footsteps.
In the past 12 months Nokia has taken our original concepts and seen that they are implemented. As a matter of fact, having been in the audience or on the receiving end of the other guys outreach efforts too many times, I can safely say, despite my bias of course, that no one is close to what Nokia is doing in the social media space at this time in mobile or even telecom.
Why? Because when you see crisp, concise, to the point and sheer brilliant analysis by the likes of a lapsed journalist, turned 2.0 era analyst, blogger and pundit like Brad Rees you know the program has hit a point of where the chasm has been crossed and the acceptance is there.
Ress is another of my UK blogalyst friends like Martin Geddes, Dean Bubley and James Enck who are MUST READS. I mean read. Do not pass go. Get the point, and then, think about reading anyone else. The stuff from this bunch is hard hitting, whimsical, factual and most of all, helpful to your knowledge base.
Note: Blogalyst: a combination of a journalist who combines the insight of an analyst with the social nature of a blogger.
