Two Grenache Wines- Beckman Vineyards

The opportunity to cellar wines give me the ability to look back at wines from the past and drink them without rushing them. That was the case with two wonderful wines from Beckman Vineyards, both with Grenache grapes, white and red, and both are from grapes grown in the Purisima Mountain Vineyard.

The 2007 Grenache Blanc is fresh and lively, with flavors of flinty graphite, spicy Granny apples, lemon, white melon and pears.

The 2002 Grenache is stunning. Loaded with brambly Grenache fruit, the wine starts out silky and ends up loaded with Rhone style power. The red fruit, loaded up with raspberry and cherry was deliscious.
