The Comunicano Communique

So the CES overhang continues to dominate the press but there are other good stories to read out there. The Atlantic's take on email and messaging is a must read for anyone who is dealing with email overload (who isn't), and the first article on VR Porn is clearly an indicator of what will be possible with Virtual Reality as we all know, as goes porn as goes the direction of products and the internet. The story on Cuba and the Internet show that we're far from done on creating networks, while the two article on T-Mobile's Binge On are worth noting if you like to read about the battles of John Legere and his team…..Pal Jeff Belk has a piece in XConomy about hearing loss, new technology and CES and more…so Just Read On..

Have a view on the news today? Please let me know what you think….Andy Abramson

VR porn is here and it's scary how realistic it is

I've tried a lot of different virtual reality experiences. Some good, some extraordinarily amazing, and some terrible. But mostly good. I've never, however, tried VR porn. So when Naughty America, one of the U.S.'s largest pornography production companies, invited me to try out VR porn for myself at CES, I wasn't sure what to expect.

Cuba's Internet Is F*cking Insane. And the Ways Cubans Use It Are Genius.

When you order a beer in Cuba, you'll likely be presented with two options: Cristal (a watery, government-owned light lager) or Bucanero (a watery, government-owned dark lager). As a group of young Cubans and I littered a restaurant table in Havana with dead soldiers of both varieties, an argument broke out as to the etymology of the latter brand.

T-Mobile's video throttling may not violate net neutrality, lawyers say

T-Mobile USA will soon meet with the Federal Communications Commission about whether its controversial " Binge On " program violates network neutrality rules. But even though T-Mobile is throttling video-and the rules ban throttling-the carrier might be able to convince the FCC that an exception should be made.

Ringing in the Years (and Ears): What I'd Like to Hear in 2016 | Xconomy

For the last 30 years, the tech revolution in PCs, Macs, and Smartphones has been largely connected with our eyes, not our ears. 2016 will mark the beginning of the commercialization of virtual and augmented reality, and although our visual experience will continue to be the main focus for these radical changes, it's time our ears started playing a much more important supporting role.
