As the year "wines" down I keep checking in on the 2015 Rose's each night with dinner. Last night I popped the 2015 Domaine de la Mordoree Tavel Rose Reine des Bois which like the other Rose wines I've opened this week continues to be another standout.

Mordoree has vineyard holdings in Tavel, Lirac, Chateauneuf du Pape and elsewhere in the Rhone, and their reds are some of the most interesting to behold. But to me their Rose wines are the charmers, starting with their non AOC Vin De France Le Remise. That wine delivers a fruit bombing roller coaster ride, while their three Tavels give you the classic experience of the AOC.

The Reine des Bois is raspberry, strawberry, watermelon and white peach on the palate. It has a long and lingering finish, with the type of acidity that goes with just about everything you want to eat.

Made from 60% Grenache, 15% Clairette, 10% Syrah, 10% Cinsault, 5% Bourboulenc the wine retails in the $30-35 dollar price range, making it one of the higher priced Rose's on the market, but it also has the ability to age for 5 or more years.

Seek this out and buy one to make New Year's Eve #RoseAllNight tonight!
