2015 Two Vintners Grenache Blanc

I continue to enjoy wines from Washington State that I pick up along the way. New winemakers like Chris Sparkman with Sparkaman Cellars, Mark Ryan and his extremely bodacious red wines are stunning examples of reds, but the real gems I've found are from the likes of Savage Wines and Derby so far. Well add Two Vintners to that list.

Last night I popped open their 2015 Grenache Blanc and became a fan.  Made from grapes grown in the Boushey  and Olsen vineyards, the Two Vintners Grenache Blanc has all the makings of a very different flavor profile, while retaining the crispness that Grenache Blanc brings to the mouth. Green apples, ripe pears, citrus fruit and a bit of a melon ball quality that bounce off the flavors of wet stones and lots of minerals all give this wine the kind of structure and backbone that makes it perfect for drinking by itself, or when accompanied by some sharp tasting cheeses.

This is a white wine from Washington that is worth seeking out.
