Report Says VoIP Adoption Rising, But Vonage Won’t Be

I have to credit TMC’s Greg Galitzine with finding this story yesterday about the growth of residential VoIP.

What’s becoming obvious and what has been for some time is that the baby Bells are really chasing the cable guys in moving their customers to VoIP. And the reason is they didn’t need to as their copper based business was yielding them one heck of a profit margin as the infrastructure costs were already bought and paid for. Now with new services like uVerse and FIOS being introduced they have to begin to show some uptake.

It’s that simple.
