High Tech Leaders Work To Make VoIP Standardized In How It’s Governed

Jeff Pulver has a post that caught my eye this morning as I awoke from a wine induced haze courtesy of my good friend Tim Johnston, and his lovely new shop and restaurant manager, Ria, over at Juveniles, (47 rue de Richelieur 75001 Paris) one of Paris’ best wine bars and all around fun places to hang out.

I’m not a newcomer to Juveniles, as I’ve known Tim almost as long as I’ve known his co-hort in wine, Mark Williamson, owner the most famous wine bar in the world, Willi’s located at number 13, Rue de Petite Champs and the home of the best wine poster art anywhere in the world. Between the two, there’s always something new to try, great to drink and some industry news to catch up on.

From the moment I walked in the door at Juveniles Tim said with his Scottish accent, “Well hello Andy. What brings you to Paris at this time of year.” After explaining why I’m here (i.e to be in real time interaction with the Truphone iPhone launch while my house goes through the renovation that never ends-they know all about that here in France) we then went through an amazing line up of a stunning Italian Prosecco, four lovely and brilliant Rose wines from four different parts of France, plus a tasty Alsatian Muscat, then four or was it five generous red wines. Needless to say at one point there were 8 glasses lined up to compliment the wonderful and tasty Indian and Asian flavored and scented Shrimps, onions and pepper dish and the amazing Confit de Canard that comes out of the tiny kitchen in the back. This is on top of the two glasses of wine I had along with a nibble at Willi’s just before strolling around the corner to Juveniles.

After ten or so glasses of wine last night, and no coffee yet, the importance of Jeff’s post rings through loud and clear.

To make for a better customer and supplier experience with VoIP nationwide in the USA, we need one unified framework for how its managed by the Federal, State and Local governments, and how the rules laid down by the FCC are applied.

Jeff’s post is crystal clear and a must read. Unlike my head which is in need of……..Pictures later.
