I didn’t blog the Vonage Avaya announcement because, well, it’s a spin control announcement.
Vonage is very good at telling the world what Vonage wants to allow be told. They are still waiting for the lawsuits from Florida to drop so an announcement like this is all about building a good perception with the public showing how they are doing everything they can to bolster a less than stellar customer service rap.
Last week they announced a router trade up program with Linksys. I’m still waiting to hear who’s paying for the cost of the “upgrade” and how it adds to Vonage’s cost of acquisition that is already thought to be at least in the $400, if not $500 range per customer.
