The Skype PR team is super to work with. They respond and unlike so many other (i.e. Vonage) when you have a story about them that you have the facts on they don’t duck.
Here’s the reply to the SAM Answering machine issue word for word.
“SAM is not a Skype endorsed product and Skype users who install this 3rd party software may risk jeopardizing their security.”
In talking with their reps last night they admit this is an issue and appreciated it coming to their attention. It also sounds like they are going to start an “Authorized by Skype” developers certification program to insure their users security.
