Sacramento Airport Fails The Speed Test

I fly in and out of Sacramento airport alot, as my second home is there due to my wife’s medical practice. You don’t move a doctor that easily. I’ve never been a fan of their bandwidth when a private company ran the WiFi concession. About two years or so the Airport realized they weren’t either … Read more

Alternatives to SkypeCasts

Jim Courtney of Skype Journal has a nice post about the available alternatives to the late, lamented SkypeCasts which Skype decided to stop operating. He picked up on my Meme yesterday (as did others) about the decision by Skype to shutter a community benefit service. The two suggestions are: Calliflower from iotum and VAPPs’ HighDefConferencing.

Is Skype Killing Itself?

Over the past few months we’ve seen a rash of complaints from bloggers and users about Skype. Now I see they’ve decided to retire SkypeCasts (hat tip to Stuart Henshall). CallVantage Watch

I’d hate for AT&T to simply cut off CallVantage for those of us who have it. Today Network World recaps something I wrote earlier in the month, and which has been on DSLReports/BroadbandReports as well. Simply put, AT&T is not putting any new customers on the CallVantage platform. This comes at a time when the … Read more

Phoenix Sky Harbor Aiport Gets It

Unlike Denver or Philadelphia International Airports, the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport gets speeds right. How right? Try 10 megs down and over 18 megs up. That’s a Working Anywhere Approved Airport. Add in the very cool Southwest Work and Power Stations and you have a perfect layover location to get things done.
