AT&T Takes CallVantage To Asia and Europe

As we said here weeks back, VoIP knows no boundaries, and the idea of a global telephony carrier brand selling termination and bypassing the PTT’s is just around the corner. Sure the idea and deployment by large companies has been done before, but never has it been put into the reach and made so easy.
Enter AT&T’s CallVantage service with today’s announcement about their new global trials
The service is designed to allow a business to provide its employees a suite of advanced calling features in the home or hotel environment using readily available broadband connections. Eventually, the service will afford remote workers secure, high-speed connections directly to their corporate offices.
The trials are scheduled to begin in the third quarter of this year in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore and the United Kingdom. The service is built upon the proven capabilities of AT&T CallVantage(SM) Service, launched in March of this year and currently being rolled-out across the United States.

  1. Please advise, I’m with IBM and we are piloting the Call Vantage Service in the US and have lots of interested parties in Europe. Can you give me a detailed update on product availability in Europe? Has it been tested – is it generally available? If not, when would you expect general availability?
    Thanks,
    John
