AT&T Will Be Bigger In VoIP, Not Traditional Phone Service

The AT&T decision to withdrawl from local markets will not affect the VoIP product. If anything, it will help because it creates a single product focus for the company.

AT&T Corp., is still the nation’s largest long-distance company, said in the announcement today also said that it would stop seeking new customers for its traditional consumer long-distance service, once the basis of the company.

SBC seeking to take a position, also chose to coat tail onto the announcement with one of their own.
