Sprint Adds USA Companies to VoIP Play

While Level3 makes news with new outlets and old, as they build out their wholesale VoIP business, long time communications giant Sprint has made moves along the same paths, winning new business where their VoIP network will be resold by USA Companies, a midwestern cable operator.

As I wrote earlier in the week, reselling rather than building is one strategy the smaller MSO’s can utilize to get VoIP to their customers quickly, and without the burden of build out or customer headaches. Like AT&T, Sprint won’t put out an inferior product. It will have been tested and will work as the consumer deployment is the smaller piece of the pie. As on of the IT industries true major players they have a reputation to live up to. Sadly, many touch the consumer initiatives over time by Sprint have always been riddled with issues. My suspicion is under their new CEO/Chairman, and a reseller model, Sprint will successfully insulate themselves from those past ills with VoIP.
