South Korea’s Hanaro, one of Southeast Asia’major players in VoIP and telephony has struck a deal to interconnect with iBasis, one of North America’s larger underlying carriers which sends traffic across the country and around the world.
While I didn’t see specific terms, a deal of this type usually covers elements such as five 9’s reliability on uptime, QoS issues and other service related terms. A rate and tarriff schedule is set and each carrier agrees to allow traffic to pass over their network in a more reliable manner.
For North American carriers now using iBasis (I think Qwest had or has a relationship with them) this is good news.
