Yak has introduced a VoIP service platform to compete with the likes of Vonage. What I’m most interested is how the price of $19.99 a month seems to be where most of the carriers are landing.
I think that’s about right and fully expect to see add-ons down the road being added to the price plans.
Yak with their “world city” program seems to be taking aim at the USA market which calls Hong Kong and China, as calls to those locations appear to be bundled under the basic rate.
We are also seeing the arrival via VoIP of the global carrier, where deals to make calls have no borders.
Hi Andy,
I found your blog while doing some research on VoIP. You have a ton of great information here.
I hate to bother you with such a simple (ie stupid) question, but I was hoping you could point me in the direction of the answer.
I currently live in France and I make a lot of calls to the United States. I have cable modem Internet access and I am thinking about VoIP. How do I begin to choose between all of the providers? I love the idea of the V3-Global, but it looks like that won’t be introduced for a couple of months.
I know this is a vague question, but any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
